Hello,

I performed a CFD analysis over a bluff body. When I calculate the drag force on the body in Tecplot (Perform Integration --> Forces and Moments), I get a very high value.

I can simple estimate the amount of drag force:
- D = C_d 1/2 rho V^2 A
rho=1.225 , A=0.0378 m^2 , V= 40 m/s
D= 37C_d

The value for the drag force I get from Tecplot is:
Drag: -2.265107e+004

which is too much.

Has anybody ever got such a problem from tecplot?

Cheers,
Cyln

Ensure you've set viscosity in the Fluid Properties dialog to a value consistent with your data's units, and that you've identified solution variables correctly in the Field Variables dialog.
cyln and Agavi like this.

Yeap, one should set the correct viscosity first
