Q structures in Tecplot.

I am trying to plot Q structures (Q 3d criteria to detect vortices) in Tecplot. Can anyboy tell me how to plot Q structures in Tecplot ?

You might look at this Q-criterion macro located on Tecplot's web-page here: http://www.tecplot.com/downloads/macros/ to see if it would be helpful. The macro is at the bottom of the page, and is called qcriterion.mcr .

Dear Scott,

I also want this Macro but when I try download from the site given I get the following message, even for all downloads from TecPlot site:

This site can’t be reached..

any alternate to it or how to access the site?

Does anyone know the equation for Q Criterion in Tecplot !?? Macro loads incredibly slow even in 8 cores

stuck at 16 %

Q Criterion calculation was added to the Analyze menu Calculate Variable options in 2017R2 or so. The macro is single threaded whereas the new method uses more parallelism of your machine.

Q-Criterion has been added to the list of variables in Analyze > Calculate Variables. Please use this instead of the macro. Analyze > Calculate Variables will run many times faster and use less RAM than the macro - this is because it does not need to generate intermediate variables and it runs multi-threaded.
