Hi,

I am conducting research on single blade axial compressor flow simulations and I am interested in using SU2 for my research. For that I need high-order scheme, so can someone confirm if WENO or any higher order scheme are available in SU2 ?

Thank you very much for your time.

Best regards,

We had weno schemes in the past, they were implemented independently by at least two researchers, but they never entered the develop and master branch. I am afraid that you are stuck with second order schemes unless you have some time to bring some dead code back to life.

Hello Bigfoot,

Thank you very much for the reply,

I went through their SU2 conference presentation which held on 2021. Thought that code now changed into a different name.

From your knowledge on SU2, do you think INLET mach number of 0.7 (velocity of 383 m/s) and Tot pressure of 115775 case can be handle steady state simulations in SU2 ?
Appreciate your honest opinion,

Best regards,

Hi,
If you do not have a third order scheme available, it means you have to use (much) more cells to get the same accuracy. Having weno available might help speed up things but this is probably not going to be a show-stopper. More important is the availability of the physics models for your specific problem.

I am not a turbomachinery expert, but all those who are will get together next week (July 11-12, 2024) in Delft. If you join, you can get feedback from the experts directly (or you know everything by the end of the workshop). I already provided the link before, in another post but for completeness, here it is:
