Hi,
It is known that the Lift and Drag coefficients change when an aircraft approaches landing called ground effect. Thought it would be good MS project at least as a 2D airfoil case. Has anyone tried simulating ground effect with SU2 ?
Thanks and Regards

Hi,

Have you tried with "dynamic surface movement" option in SU2 to specify moving wall.

Thanks,
Rejish

Hi,

Just use the bottom of the domain as a wall boundary condition and that is it. A moving wall by itself will not give you a ground effect.

Hi,

If I am correct, in addition to that we should also specify velocity of that wall as well.

Thanks,

Only if you are worried about the boundary layer. If your height is higher than the boundary layer (which I may have assumed incorrectly), the wall velocity shouldn't change the results much. In an Euler simulation, both moving and regular wall will be the same as the wall condition is no penetration, not velocity = 0
