Hello, I am looking for a open source software that can be used for the aerodynamic simulations of transonic compressor or fan. I did a rough literature search with SU2, I can see most people use it for 2-D or 3-D airfoils. Could I ask if SU2 can be used for 3-D RANS or URANS simulations of high-speed turbomachiney? like the well-known NASA rotor 67? And if anyone have performed any test case?

Thank in advance,
Wenqiang

Hi Wenqiang,

Yes, we have recently simulated NASA Rotor 67 for 3D-RANS (1st order), 2nd order requires mesh refinements and is a work in progress.

We are confident we will get it converged soon.

Thanks,
Nitish

Hi Nitish

im interrested in your work. actually i'm trying to simulate Caradonna & Tung rotor. i done it in EULER but i'm getting problems with RANS simulation. can you please help me with the configuration file of your's RANS simulations.

thank you in advance
kind regards
Ahmed
