Hi everyone,

How can i monitor mass flow rate, total pressure and any other flow quantity at the pressure outlet boundary.

Thanks in advance.

To output averaged quantities at an outlet, set MARKER_MONITORING to the marker the defines the outlet, and set MARKER_ANALYZE_AVERAGE to the type of averaging you want (area-averaged or massflux-averaged).
(Using version 6.0)

Thank you for your response.

It actually works with no problem.

However, it prints the related flow quantities according to the WRT_SOL_FREQ value. What I really need is to observe and investigate change in flow quantity at outlet in every iteration like residual. Is it possible to do that?

Thanks again.

I think that it should be output in the history file - it sounded like you were referring to the console output.

Hoping to resurrect this thread, as I'm still not able to get the mass fluxes at the inlet/outlet of my internal flow simulation to write to the history.csv file.

I have the following settings defined:
% Marker(s) of the surface where the functional (Cd, Cl, etc.) will be evaluated
MARKER_MONITORING= ( INLET, OUTLET )

% Marker(s) of the surface that is going to be analyzed in detail (massflow, average pressure, distortion, etc)
MARKER_ANALYZE = ( INLET, OUTLET )

% Method to compute the average value in MARKER_ANALYZE (AREA, MASSFLUX).
MARKER_ANALYZE_AVERAGE = MASSFLUX

% Writing convergence history frequency
WRT_CON_FREQ= 1
%
% Output the solution at each surface in the history file
WRT_SURFACE= YES
The WRT_SURFACE setting successfully added the inlet and outlet surface values to the history.csv file, but only the lift/drag/force/moment coefficients which aren't relevant in this case.

Does anybody know of a way to add the boundary or surface total mass flux to the history.csv file, or would this require a change to the source code?

Thanks!
