I have a 3D mesh with 138417 tetrahedral elements. Upon running the solver, the solution is calculated for the stipulated number of steps and when the solver begins to write the solution of the volume and surface flows, it fails and quits. I have tried with both TECPLOT and PARAVIEW result formats. Any help with respect to solving this issue will be much appreciated.
Thank you. I have also attached the screenshot of my command prompt and the config file for your reference. (In the screenshot uploaded, I had 5 as the writing frequency). euler_dart.txt SU2_commandprompt.jpg |

Based on your output, it looks like you are running in parallel - to avoid overhead, in this situation the visualization files are processed separately. This is completed automatically if you use the parallel_computation.py script. |

Thank you for responding.
To be honest, I haven't specified anything special for the program to run parallel. I don't even have the MS MPI installed in my PC. Also, the bold letter specifies that when running in parallel, the restart files will be written. In that case I could have used the SU2_SOL to get get the data out. But I do not have the restart files; only surface flows.csv and the history files are produced. |

Hi dpkprm,
I have the same problem with a 2D Euler simulation on SU2 4.0.0 (on Windows 7); this is very annoying for me, because I have an automatic routine implemented in MatLab that computes the airfoil coefficients for a range of AoAs and Mach. Although I need only the coefficients and the surface solution, this problem stops the routine at the first analysis, so i cannot go on with the other flow conditions on SU2. I tried to do the same repetitive calculation with the test case '2D Euler NACA0012' and it works. The problem arises when i run a 2D Euler on a NACA642415 airfoil, with a .su2 mesh generated with GMSH. No problem of convergence of the solution. Dear dpkprm, if you have found a solution for the problem, please share it with me!! Thank you!! |

I'm sorry. I haven't figured out what's wrong. I have resorted to running the solver for a number of iterations so that I could get all the parameters from the history file. It's a long process, but its the only way for me right now. Last edited by dpkprm; October 25, 2016 at 08:07. |
