Hello everyone a quick question

which module is responsible for making design variables to be the value of “DEFENITION_DV “ ?
If would be great if one can give some explanations about how to pass some setting (like FFD or Hicks-Henne …) to that module and get the values needed for DEFENITION_DV
I see in some pages that in the previous editions it was MDC
Also which source file has the codes related to design variables

Thanks alot

Hi Mohammad,

you can find more information on setting up a case using FFD in the wiki:
https://github.com/su2code/SU2/wiki/...f-a-Fixed-Wing

Tanks Tim

I have read that tutorial complicity and I know about that python script which is mentioned there but mainly I want to know about Bump functions like HICKS_HENNE, COSINE_BUMP, SPHERICAL, NACA_4DIGITS …..
I check out the DEF module which I think is responsible for mesh deformation, I want to know how I can generate the DEFINITION_DV of these functions automatically

The source code is here:
https://github.com/su2code/SU2/blob/..._structure.cpp

SU2_DEF uses some of the functions defined in the Common/ module.
For the format of design variable specification, please see the config_template provided in the SU2/ directory, which has descriptions of the design variable formats. Examples are also available in the tutorials and test cases.
