Hello,

I'm trying to work through the so-called 'Quick Start', but have encountered a confusing problem:

I've built SU2 configured for openmpi usage and I can get the SU2_CFD to run the NACA0012 mesh in parallel on my four cores.

In the 'File Output Summary', it indicates that it has written the SU2 native restart file (a file indicating the state of the computation which, when input to SU2_SOL {if the CFD was ran in parallel}, generates the .vtk files, and so on).

Nowhere is there a restart file written on my computer. Not in the directory I'm working in (where it should be written to) and no where else (at least according to the 'find ~/ -iname "*.dat" ' I ran.) I've toggled a variety of NACA0012 config variables to no avail.

I've tried this both in the /quickstart and in the /testcases/euler/naca0012 after copying in the mesh.

Where is this blasted restart.dat file? I'm on os x 10.10.4. Could this be some insidious autoconf automake libtool shenanigans working its way through the build configuration into these run configuration problems I'm having?

Molto grazie to anyone who can chime in with an assist!

Hi,

The only time we have seen this issue before is if there are problems with permissions in the working directories. Please double check that you are running within a directory where you have full write privileges (such as your home directory). Also, double check your paths to ensure that you're executing the SU2_CFD version that you expect.

Hope this helps,
Tom
