Hi,

I am an undergraduate research student working on shallow water simulations. I have downloaded & installed and configured SU2.

However, when trying to run the test-case provided: NACA AirFoil via the SU2_CFD inv_NACA0012.cfg command I get an error:

CONVERT_TO_METER: invalid option name
ANALYTICAL_SURFDEF: invalid option value NACA0012_airfoil
GRID_DEFORM_METHOD: invalid option name
CAUCHY_FUNC_ADJ: invalid option name

How can I get past this???

Thank you for your question
The short answer: find the lines in the config file that have these options, and delete them.

The long answer: there was a recent update to change the way that the code deals with config options that are no longer used - previously the code would run without telling you that there were extra options, or give an error that was less informative. The major test cases and tutorial config files should have been updated, so you should check against github as it sounds like you don't have the most recent config files. If you would prefer, another option is to download an older version of the code - I'm not sure if the older executables are on the download page, or if you are compiling from the source you can use github tools to do that.

Yeah, thats what I did and I was surprised to see it work without those parameters. Now its working fine. Also I got SU2 by registering at the site and then cloning it from GIT repo as directed upon registration. I guess I am having a stable enough version to work with.

I am trying to create a model of a Shallow Water Sim using the navier stokes equations
