The school is organized by the turbo working group and will be held at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering of the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), on July 11th and 12th. Attendees will have the chance to acquire hands-on experience on flow simulation and optimization of turbomachinery components with SU2, and to learn the basics of SU2 code programming in a live coding session. Dear SU2 Team,
I am a non-native English speaker with a moderate level of English proficiency. Using translation software, I can discuss with scholars on the website, but for situations like courses, I am very concerned about my English level. Nevertheless, I really like the SU2 tool and hope to use it to complete my PhD. I am posting to inquire whether language barriers might affect my learning experience in the SU2 Turbo Summer School 2024. Thank you for your assistance! Sincerely, Tongtong |

Dear Tongtong,
I think being good at English can help you with your research and with your career. It can be challenging to learn to read, write, listen to and speak English when you start, but it gets easier with practice. So the best thing to do is to start now. There are great apps that can help you like duolingo, and watching videos in the English language, even with subtitles, can also help. We have some videos from the SU2 conference of last year that you can watch: https://su2foundation.org/su2conference2023/ They might be challenging for you, the topics are challenging even for native English speakers :-) But this gives an impression of what to expect. |

Thank you for your reply. Language should not be a barrier, and as you mentioned, I will start now.
I have already watched this conference, and it was excellent. Many outstanding scholars shared their work, and I learned a lot from it. Best regards, Tongtong |
