Hi everyone, I need a help with my CFD simulation of a ship hull. The ship hull is moving at a cruise speed of 15km/h and its draught is 5 m. I need to determine the maximum lift force and its position but I don't know how to do it. In particoular I can't find the position of maximum lift force.
Thanks for the attention,
regards

Perhaps you need to rephrase your question? What do you mean by maximum lift and it's position? Generally speaking, forces are an integration of pressure and shear stresses on the body. These produce a moment about your center of gravity and by taking the moment and forces that result from this integration, you can back out the distance from the CG to the location where an equivalent point load exists. I think the phrase 'maximum lift' would only be pertinent to a series of discrete lift calculations (i.e. unsteady analysis).

Moment = Force x Distance
