Hello Guys,

is there a posibility in star ccm+ to isnert a Grid in a Scalar Scene?

My Scalar Scene shows a cut section of a freejet in ambient air. I would like to show the dimension of that freejet. To show that, i thought a Grid with 10mm distance in x and y would be nice.

Thanks for your help!

Maybe that is not possible like this, but there is another option to get what i want to.

All i want is a plot which shows the Mole Fraction of my mixture with colors for the different scalars. In scalar scene i can see something like that. But there are no axis to recognize the dimensions of the plot.

Anyone an idee?

You can import an image and use it as an annotation.

Another option is to create a 3d CAD model of your coordinate system and put it in a geometry displayer. I did this with 3d curved and straight arrows which should rotate with the model.

By the way - image annotations support transparency, at least in case of .png image.

Thanks for your help!

I tryed it with Anootations and used a Coordinate-Plane Generator for this. (https://www.oliverboorman.biz/projec...esian_grid.php)

This Generator can do transparent coordinate-planes, too.

My Problem: I changed the position of my annotation in the properties window several times until the coordinate-planes fits perfect to my modell. But when i zoom in or some out, the coordinate-system wont stick to the modell.

I tryed "World" and "Normalized Viewport" as coordinate sytem settings in starccm+, both not really helpfull for this case.

Someone an idea?

Then create is as a 3d cad model.

I tryed it with the 3d CAD Model. I created it and generated a New Part.

I opened the scalar scene and added a new displayer (surface-displayer).
In the "Parts" section i choose the surface of the coordinate system part, but nothing appears in my scalar scene

The only thing i see is still my "cutting section" of my modell, which shows the scalar temperature.

Is it not possible to show a surface displayer in a scalar scene, or is it just the wrong way?

Please excuse my newbie questions

Go to the properties of that displayer and change the Representation to Geometry.

A scene grid annotation creates something like what you're looking for, it's already built in to the code.

But as I have recently discovered - it cannot be rotated, if I'm right
