Hello CFD Experts,

i am working on the formula student project, trying to get star ccm+ as a mesher running, cause we only used Ansys fluent so far.

I am using Parts based meshing, everything works fine. I solved already the mesh and had no problems with making all settings for a full simulation. Now for example i try to change the angle of attack for our rearwing(only changing position and angle of single wings) to try another car setup or in this case to improve my experience in star ccm+ meshing with the "meshing pipeline".
For making it clearer, my main goal is to built up something like a complete meshing pipeline to work faster, where i only have to replace my wing parts with the new wing positions after a finished simulation and then can use the "execute all" for all my operations so i get a full mesh with modified wings to solve again.

I cleared the solution and in the "parts" node i used "replace part" for two single wings. After that i can Wrap my car geometry and can use the wrap to get my Fluid Region by using a Substract operation. For "Automated Meshing" i need to "assign Parts to Regions" and here is my problem: I already got my Region with all boundaries which i want to keep, cause all boundary conditions are already set. But my replaced parts are not updated/replaced in the boundaries of the region. Is there a way to update the region with my modified parts and maintaining my general boundaries?

My problem is similiar to this thread but couldnt help me further:

Boundary update after geometry change

Thanks for helping!

How about you tell something a bit more informative than "problem solved"?

Tell us your solution, please, - that would save some time to others who face similar problem.

Otherwise - next time you post a question don't be surprised to get an answer like "Matzeee, I've found solution to your problem".

Well if you`re not okay with that
Solution
you can go into the Regions, there you can edit the boundaries and can add or replace the old part (in this case my old wing with the new wing). If you add new parts in generall to your geometry and want to keep your initilazied region without clearin/deleting it, just go under geometry and right click that part. Under Assign parts to region you can add it to an already existing region

Hope everyone is helped!
