Hey Guys,
I am trying to simulate air dust circulation inside a room in a presence of an air injector using DMP. The initial dust VOF is 5%. I set the simulation according to the STAR CCM 9.06 manual. The problem is when I initialize the simulation, the initial dust VOF contour is ok (showing 5%) and also the total volume of the dust (using Volume Integral) particles is ok (0.05*Room Volume=1.39 m^3). However, when I run the file, immediately after the first timestep the values of dust VOF dorp to 0.01 and also the total dust volume of dust inside the room follow the same trend and become one-fifth ((1/5)*1.39m^3=0.278 m^3). Amazingly, the value of 0.01 (and also the total dust volume inside the room ) do not chang even if I use ANY OTHER INITIAL DUST VOF.... any idea?!!! |

Very amazingly, even when I change all of the INLETs and OUTLETs to WALL, still the same thing and the same values show up....

Answer to my previous question
The reason of jumping to VOF of 0.01 is that this value is a predefined value under SOLVER> DISPERSED MULTIPHASE> VOLUME FRACTION then you need to change the "Maximum Volume Fraction" to any higher value if your simulation includes a higher VOF than 0.01. |
