I want to split the surfaces in a new part in a sim file using 'split by patch' option, but it is GREYED-OUT in the menu - I don't know why and it's driving me nuts!
It was working fine before, but I don't know what I've changed in the sim file to make the option unavailable. |

You need to have a scene open from that same sim file in order for "Split by patch" to be available. It can be an empty or completely unrelated scene, but CCM+ needs somewhere to show the patches and let you click them. The same thing happens when you try to "Edit in Current Scene" (for some derived parts).
I'm not sure why the default action is not to just create an empty scene, but that's how it's programmed. |
