Just one stupid question: how can I split a Block face (a plane surface) into more than one boundary?

I need a rectangular face with a circle inscribed into it... and two different boundaries (one for the circle and one for the residual area)...

I'm sorry for the stupid question but i can't find how to do it.

TY

If you generated the geometry in 3D-CAD, you can easily imprint a cylinder or a sketch with a circle on to the block.

If you're just using the block in the parts tree, you can generate a cylinder as well, open them both in Surface Repair, and intersect the two.

I'm using the block in the parts tree and now I'm feeling very stupid:

I did as you said. I selected the block faces first (Face set 1), then the cylinder ones (Face set 2) and clicked "Intersect"... Now the edges of the intersection are selected...and now? I 'm not able to create a new surface with them or a part curve. Failing on easy issue like that is so frustrating -.-

Thank you me3840

please follow me3840 first suggestion and do this job in 3d-cad since you will need to learn far less

and if you have not used 3d-cad before then do the help tutorial on it designing a cyclone separator
