I have a problem with visualization of iso-surface (free surface) in the multi-mixture simulation. I have done the DFBI: Boat in the Waves Head tutorial and it worked more or less fine. Now I have done the same only with my boat that I imported from rhino. I come to the step where it should show the free surface and is simply not going to show up. the only thing I've noticed is that neither function which should show where is light fluid and where is heavy fluid or function of hydrostatic pressure does not work. I can not determine exactly where the problem is, nor do I know where to look to solve the problem because I'm pretty new to the star-ccm + and with CFD.
please help |

Have you applied all the physics model correctly? multiphase mixture, VOF wave, etc?
What about the boundary condition? |

Make sure that the iso surface is selected in your scene and volume mesh representation is applied. If you get any kind of error messages post them here.

Well it is always possible that i did there mistake, but like I said only follow the tutorial DFBI: Boat in the Waves Head and one similar tutorial that used flat wave instead of head wave. I did this tutorials and generate mesh multiple times, and I always have the same problem. I could upload some images of mesh or whatever if you think that will help to describe this mystery. Thank you for trying to help. |

hi
I made .pdf. It is some sort of tutorial how to fail : ). In .pdf I explain step by step all things that I done. The document has a lot of descriptions and screen shots, so that anyone can recreate "simulation". I believe that experience users will on the first look see where I did mistake or have good advice where the problem might be. server1 https://mega.co.nz/#!ZAcCgb6Z!FnNcJG...E8e98RR44mDA2g server2 http://www.mediafire.com/?suxq6ppt17mosik |

Did you click on Initialization flag? (green flag)
Set scalar scene to Volume Mesh representation. |

Based on your step by step instruction, seems you have yet to click the initialization button?

Hi there
the green flag was the issue : D. Now i can derived iso surface from functions with no problem. Like I said I am total rookie, and small things like this can easily catch me off guard and cause massive frustation. Thank you guys! You help a lot!! |
