hi guys!
I must say this CFD Online forum is great, well, the best. However Iīm doing FSI analysis and Iīm not able to find a GOOD ansys workbench/mechanical forum on the web. Any suggestion?
From my point of view, I really think that this CFD Online forum should be upgraded to something bigger, lets say FEA Online, or so? Wouldnīt be great??!
Iīm sure lots of users are interested in FSI discipline and need suggestions, inputs, comments, help, etc from several disciplines, like fluid, thermal, mechanical, etc.
Hope that with users and administrators help, this can be accomplished.
Thankīs

Hey Lefteris,

could you suggest me a good FEA forum website?

I donīt know how to add a convergence method on a FSI problem. A pressure solution from CFX fluid analisis is beeing aplyied over a wing shaped structure as a load. When I try to add the convergence method under solution options in mechanical workbench, this option is not availabe.
If I do supress the imported pressure, and add a simple force load on the tip of the wing shaped structure, then, YES, this option is available and I can use this convergence method.
Maybe you can help me?
thankīs

I know there are a bunch of ANSYS groups on Linked In. Some are regional, others are based around products like ANSYS Mechanical. Start asking there... Maybe you can get help on linked in or maybe they can point you to a more FEA centric site...

If you can't find one, perhaps it is time for someone (maybe you) to start FEA-Online.com
Far likes this.

This was the advice from Ferit Boysan more than 10 years ago... but we have tried to stay CFD focused. We have the http://www.cae-online.com and http://www.fem-online.com domains though. Perhaps a first thing to try could be to open a FEM sub-forum here.

Yes Simon, so far, Linked in seems a good advise. Thankīs.
Regarding starting myself a FEA Online.com, unfortunately I donīt have the knowledge enough to do it, and even the time for it, but maybe one day when retired itīs a good option.

Jonas, I did try to open both websites you suggested and none of it works . Still, thankīs for your answer. I do agree with you, maybe you guys could open a FEM sub-forum here?

Several people have asked us before to open forums related to structural analysis. We have decided to finally give it a try. We just now opened the following forums:
We will see if these new forums work our. You can try posting your questions about FEA in the new structural mechanics forum.
Far and acasas like this.
