Hello Reef3D Team,

I've been working on 3D numerical simulations involving a floating cylindrical buoy, both with and without a turbulence model. When I conducted the simulation without the turbulence model, it ran smoothly without any errors, but the over predictions by approximately 10% when compared to experimental results.

However, when I attempted to run the simulation with the turbulence model enabled, I encountered a problem. The simulation abruptly terminated around the 12.6-seconds, and I received an error message stating, "velocities exceeding critical value N 61 (default value I am using)." Strangely, I did not observe any sudden spikes in the heave plot during this time.

Could you please provide insights into the possible reasons behind this issue?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Dear Sir,
I would like to attach my simulation of a floating cylinder with moorings. Although it ran successfully but from time step 40 the cylinder seemed to sink forever. Can you help me know why or give me some advice about this.
Thanks in advance.

Are you using the latest RC?

Like I said in my reply from September 10th, you need to use the latest RC. If the issue still persists, I will have a look.

Dear Sir,
I am using the latest RC. The issue still persists and the wave looks so strange.
Could you please have a look.

The case works for me with the latest RC (running to 200 itereations).

Keep in mind: 23.08 is not the RC - it is the latest master release.

The RC (release candidate) can be found here: https://github.com/REEF3D/REEF3D/tree/release_candidate

Other comments:
- you are missing the relaxation zone length command (B 96)
- the wave tank should be ca. 2x still water depth
- with floating, I would not start with I 30 1
- for waves + RANS turbulence model, you need T 36 2 for free surface turbulence damping. For this case, no turbulence model would be also an option.

Hello Reef3D Team,
Instead of using the X312 command I want to use the X311 command. However, I do not know how to declare the range of three parameters H, P and Q properly.
Could you please provide some more detail for this issue? Because if using the X311 command, which option must be enabled for X310?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
