Sir, I want to know that how can I add complex geometry in reef3d as 'stl' format. If I make complex geometry in a CAD software and export it to .stl file, then how can I import it to reef3d.

1. name your .stl file as "solid.stl" and put it in the working directory.
2. add following line to the control.txt S 1 3. run DIVEMesh for preprocessing check the DIVEMesh user manual section 1.9 for more solid geometry options... |

Thank you. Do i need to import whole domain with complex geometry or i have to import only structure?

That would be up to you. You can combine a solid.stl file with other solid entities (see S options) or with natural topography, see G options in DIVEMesh.

Hi,
Have you solved your problem? I have encountered the same problem as you. I want to simulate the erosion of a complex bridge pier in the water. And I want to add this structure to a specific position of the rectangle, but I don't know how to set it. Or how did you solve this problem. Thanks in advance. |

Without knowing further details, use:
S 1 1 to include your stl file in the grid generation Use: S 7 x y z to move the structure to where you want it to be. The stl file has a value for that defines the origin of the coordinates in that file. The x y z values in S 7 help you translate (move without rotation) the origin of the imported stl file so that you can place it where you want it to be Hope that helps
