Hi!
I am working on a mesh independence study on a 2D structured mesh around airfoil. I have several questions regarding grid manipulation. For structured mesh: 1. Is there any way in Pointwise to coarsen a very fine mesh systematically? (eg. take off points systematically from my mesh to coarsen it) 2. Is there any way that I can only refine part of my mesh (2D)? (eg. only refine the first 10 layer of mesh from the airfoil) For unstructured mesh: 1. How can I put a source in a 2D unstructured mesh? Any help would be much appreciated! -Raye |

Maybe these scripts can help:

Raye:
You can refine just a portion of a structured mesh by defining a subdomain and refining only that subdomain. See section 9.6.1.10 of the Pointwise User Manual for more details. At the current time, sources do not work for 2D grids, but you can add an internal edge to get much the same effect. Here is a short video demonstration of that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNcKwsgPevo Rick |
