I have a an MRF zone set up but how do I check the MRF zone rotation direction is correct, from the OpenFoam solution in Paraview?

I think its something to do with "read zones", and displaying the velocity vectors on the (rotating) wall surface, but I cant remember how to do it.

Thanks.

Hi,

You would not need to do the read zones option for this. Just visualize the walls that should be in the rotating zone. I would typically color them by velocity and maybe add a glyph filter to it, using arrows for the glyph type.

Regards,
Tom

Hi, Yes thanks Tom - you are right... but for some reason the velocity (rotation) does not work for my OF11 flow solution. Same case works fine in OF10 (you can clearly see the velocity on the rotating MRF zone) but in OF11 flow solution, there is no velocity on the surfaces within the MRF zone. Some problems with the OF11 MRF zone functionality I think.

in OF11 you need to have "type MRFnoSlip" in the U file,
instead of fixedValue (in OF10), otherwise it wont work.
