Hello guys,

I've installed openFOAM-5.0 to test the new barycentric-tracking algorithm for lagrangian solvers.

I ran the tutorials but I can't visualize particles on paraView. This is due to Paraview's built-in reader trying to load the old particle positions format, according to this bug report.
As Henry suggested, the up to date paraFoam reader will do the job.

BUT... I run my simulations on a cluster and I visualize it on a windows workstation where I only have the stand alone Paraview installed.
Do you guys know any workaround to get Paraview to read the particle coordinates?

Thanks,
Yann

Hi,

I did it using the foamToVTK utility, but this will give you a large amount of additional data (depending on the number of parcels).

You can look through the options (using the TAB completion, or -help) to only convert the Lagrangian particles to VTK.

Regards,
Tom

Hi Tom,

You're right, I didn't think about foamToVTK! I'll give it a try and see what I can do with it.

Regards,
Yann
