New openfoam user...
Fresh install of Ubuntu 14 x64. Followed instructions on openfoam website to install openfoam 3.0.1 and paraview bins from repository. All dependants successfully installed. Run the cavity tutorial: all commands work fine. Loads into paraview/parafoam. Select the cavity.OpenFOAM object and can visualize p and U. However, all the filters in the menu (and top bar) are greyed out... Have tried deleting the ~/.config/Paraview folder as suggested on one of the threads here. No difference. Same issue when Ubuntu installed in a VM. |

To answer my own question... after being stumped for over half an hour I realise one step is missing from the instructions:
After loading the data into paraview, click on the data object and select the eye symbol next to it to show it. ** In the properties window: click "Apply" ** Filters will now be available. |
