Hello everyone,
I need to calculate the derivatives of velocity dui/dxj and duj/dxi on the middle of a wave flume, so i can calculate the Reynolds stresses. Can i do it using paraview? If so, could someone explain me how to do it or point me to some papers explaining the subject.. Thanks! António |

Anyone knows something about this?
To calculate the Reynolds stresses im going to use this equation: -ui'uj'=2vtSij-2/3*k*deltaij with Sij=1/2*(deltaU/deltaxj+deltaUj/deltaxi) So the only thing i need is this velocity derivatives, can i do it in paraview? Thanks! |

Hi António,
There is "Gradient Of Unstructured DataSet" filter which does exactly what you want. For velocity vector it calculates 9 component tensor (dU/dx, dU/dy, dU/dz, dV/dx, dV/dy, dV/dz,dW/dx, dW/dy, dW/dz). -Mikko |
