If you use paraview for post-processing you can very easily just plot the alpha1 field and find out where the boundary between 0 and 1 is.

If you want to just track alpha1=0.5 for example you could also sample it.

thanks for quick reply....

Can you tell me....... I have to used "plot data "or "Plot over line" in a filter in

paraview........And if I used "plot data" and plot generated after that how I can extract

that data in a column wise manner so that we can use the information for further

processing .

I'm not sure if I understand what you want to do, but perhaps the instructions on the following link can give you at least some ideas on what you can do with ParaView: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/par...tml#post405615 - see post #2

Best regards,
Bruno

hello
here I'm attaching the Image, I want track the interface. I have captured that image at 25th sec. at that time I want to find out all the coordinate at interface separating two fluid.
Red: oil
blue : air
and there is line or curve (white) separating them
means want to fine out coordinates of all the alpha (0<alpha<1)

reply asap

Regards
Harshawardhan

First of all: you have a value of alpha1 large than 1 in your domain. This is obviously unphysical so I suggest you look into the 'limit' you use for your contact angle BC (i recommend limit gradient)

Second I think you it would help you a lot to look into the documentation of Paraview a bit to figure out yourself what you can do.

Hello everyone,
I am solving a multiphase case using interfoam. but during solving my alpha value exceeds 1 . how should i limit alpha value within 0 to 1 interval . what is the exact reason of it to increase beyond 1 or decrease beyond 0 .?? plz Help

Use Rescale to Data range
the path is Display-> (in front) of color by
at initially before the play for alpha
