Hi

I have some data defined over the surface of a pipe, and I want to print them on a 2D color map. In order to visualize all the result in a single 2D plot, I would like to use a polar coordinate system (r,theta,z) instead of the cartesian one, and use theta and z as axes for the plot.

How I can do it?

In the images there is an example, made with Tecplot:

Greetings Nicolò,

I haven't confirmed this, but I believe the either the "wrap by scalar" or "wrap by vector" filters should do what you want:
Best regards,
Bruno

Bruno, thanks for the suggestion.

I have obtained the result in the image, using the "warp by vector" filter:

Then I can use "Extract Cells By Region" to remove the deformed cells in the area in which the warp filter cuts the geometry, and a "Clip" to remove the irregular boundaries. The final result is this:

Hi Nicolò,

I try to reproduce what you did.

But when I select the 'warp by vectors' filter, the vectors box is blanked. So I can't select any vectors. Do you know the reason ?

Un saluto,
Stéphane

Quick question: Does the original data (before trying to apply the filter) have any vector fields?
And if it does have vector fields, are they of type "point data" or "cell data"?

Hi,

Sorry for the question.
The vector field (the only one) was selected (grey-light colored).

Have a nice day,
Stéphane.
