Hi
I have some data defined over the surface of a pipe, and I want to print them on a 2D color map. In order to visualize all the result in a single 2D plot, I would like to use a polar coordinate system (r,theta,z) instead of the cartesian one, and use theta and z as axes for the plot. How I can do it? In the images there is an example, made with Tecplot: export2.jpg export.jpg |

Greetings Nicolò,
I haven't confirmed this, but I believe the either the "wrap by scalar" or "wrap by vector" filters should do what you want:

Bruno, thanks for the suggestion.
I have obtained the result in the image, using the "warp by vector" filter: exp0.jpg Then I can use "Extract Cells By Region" to remove the deformed cells in the area in which the warp filter cuts the geometry, and a "Clip" to remove the irregular boundaries. The final result is this: exp.jpg |

Hi Nicolò,
I try to reproduce what you did. But when I select the 'warp by vectors' filter, the vectors box is blanked. So I can't select any vectors. Do you know the reason ? Un saluto, Stéphane |

And if it does have vector fields, are they of type "point data" or "cell data"? |

Hi,
Sorry for the question. The vector field (the only one) was selected (grey-light colored). Have a nice day, Stéphane. |
