Dear All,

As a part of a Tempus NUSIC Programme of lectures at the University of Zagreb, of which Wikki Ltd. is a partner, I will be teaching a short intensive course under the title: Numerical Solution Algorithms for Compressible Flows. The course is targeted to Master of Science students or PhD candidates and will be delivered as a two-part lecture series of 4-days each.

The material covered in the course includes
  • Finite Volume discretisation on polyhedral meshes (face-addressed approach)
  • Implicit methods for convection, diffusion, time derivative, source and sink terms
  • Differencing schemes: boundedness and accuracy
  • Study of implicit methods, matrix structure and solvers
  • Pressure-velocity coupling; solution algorithms for incompressible and compressible flows
  • Boundary conditions for aerodynamic applications and mesh resolution requirements
  • Large-scale computations with parallel computing
  • Advanced topics: large eddy simulations and aero-elasticity

Student exercises offered as a part of the course will be done using OpenFOAM; clearly, the material describes the discretisation practices and solution algorithms implemented in OpenFOAM.

The course is organised and hosted by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. The first session is planned for the week of 17-21/Apr-2006, with the second following in late May or early June 2006. I have been advised there will be several spaces from interested parties from other institutions. There will be an attendance fee charged by the University - I promise to do my best to keep it at minimum.

If you are interested in attending or need more info, please contact me by E-mail on hrvoje.jasak@fsb.hr.

Regards,

Hrv

For whoever stumbles upon this thread, right now the notes can be found under the following link:

I hope this is an official link, I just found it using google..
C. Okubo and sabiru like this.
