Hi all,
I want to simulate catalytic surface reactions with ReactingFoam including adsorption and desorption. Is there any existing code which considers about adsorption/desorption or surface coverage of species? Has anybody an idea of implementing adsorption/reaction/desorption in Foam? I appreciate for any hint. Many thanks in advance for your help and ideas. |

Hi Robert,
have you obtained any answers about this question? At the end, how do you have simulated this kind of problems? Thanks Valerio

Same interest here. I am evaluating if i can go into OpenFoam and i need surface chemistry in a transient state. After reading some documentation i am still not sure if OpenFoam has this capability. Can anybody give a hint? Is ReactiveFoam the correct solver ? , etc etc. Thank you for the help... |

hello,
You might take a look at fireFoam, which has all you need. regards, olivier |

Thank you, Olivier.
Already a couple of days that i am looking into FireFoam. It seems to be what i need but to be sure i need to go deeper. thank you again... |

Hello Robert and others reading the thread,
I just started using openFOAM and wanted to simulate a similar type of reactor involving gas and surface phase reactions. Since you started the this thread, I wanted to ask you if you had any success with this type of application. If possible, could you share some thoughts? I would really appreciate it. Sam |

Hello Everybody,
you can find also an OpenFOAM solver which makes use of the software toolbox DETCHEM. The properties, gasphase reactions and surface reactions are taken from a shared library. For academic use this code is free, for industrial use you have to buy the DETCHEM software. You find information at www.detchem.com. Click on Software on the left side and have a look to the entry "DC4OpenFOAM" in the product list. Greetings matthi |

Hi everbody,
I am studying a adsorption process of drying compressed air and i wondering if it is possible to simulate the case with openfoam or i need to use Fluent for this case. If somebody knows if it is possible to use OF, i apreciate a information about a right solver to use. Thanks to all RM |
