Hello everybody,
I decided to simulate scour and sediment transport using OF. I read some papers and find the key technique to simulate scour is "dynamic mesh" .
Jacobsen used this method in his paper and provided a figure of the implementation process of coupling between hydrodynamic and morphological module in his paper.
I think his thesis is very helpful.
To implement the coupling, three meshes for the
(a) N–S equations,
(b) bed load and morphological computations(solved though FAM) and
(c) the suspended sediment transport are needed
.
And I want to know how to implement coupling process in OF.
In my opinion, the three meshes are solved separately, each mesh can use different discretization scheme. And the mapping of variables is implemented through a separate script.
If my opinion is workable, how to solve the mapping between the fluid mesh bottom boundary and sediment 2D mesh. And I want to know if there is a simpler way to implement the coupling process.
May anyone help me and tell me how to figure it out. Thanks a billion.
