Good afternoon all,

I was trying to reproduce this tutorial:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds0e...nEnQqB&index=4

but I faced a fail with openFoam. I had issue only on solving part (not on mesh part). When I typed the sonicFoam command, the openFoam returned that sonicFoam was not found.

"""
Command 'sonicFoam' not found, but can be installed with:

sudo apt install openfoam
"""

Them, Ubuntu suggested to install OpnFoam by sudo apt install openfoam.

I tried that and it didn't solve my issue.

I also searched on google for this issue and didn't find any solution.

By the way, I am using:
- Ubuntu18.04;
- OpenFoam8

Since OpenFOAM 7 the functionality of sonicFoam is integrated into rhoPimpleFoam. You have to set "transonic true;" in the PIMPLE sub-dictionary in fvSolution to activate it. See: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...865321af6dd6ca

Two questions on the thermodynamics in sonicFoam and rho(S/P)impleFoam:

1/ Did sonicFoam allow to choose between rhoThermo and psiThermo?

2/ Any examples that show the benefit of rhoThermo and psiThermo given a certain application?

Thx!
