Hello everyone,

I am currently simulating droplet impact onto thin liquid films using interIsoFoam with dynamic mesh refinement. However, i am not able to capture the crown formation after impact, and I've tried changing the courant number and the dynamic mesh refinement levels, having no success. Attached to these files are images of the experimental and numerical cases for the same impact conditions. I have tried changing some fvSchemes dicretization methods, but also with no significant change. I also tried to change the reconstruction method (gridAlpha, isoAlpha, plicRDF) but, for the current simulation state, it is also not possible to notice the impact of these methods, since the crown does not develop.

What could I adapt in the solver or in the current simulation to improve my results?

Taking the Mesh carefully and calculate all the parameters

Hi Daniel, have you solved this problem? you use the interIsoFoam with dynamic refinemesh to caputre the phase interface during the calculating, do you revise the interIsoFoam solver? and if you try the interFoam with dynamic refinemesh, can the solver to able to capture the crown formation after impact ?
