Dear all,

I'm trying to simulate the solidification of alloy steel in OpenFoam.

At the moment I'm using the solver solidificationFoam, but it lacks of some things like thermal shrinkage and variable viscosity.

I'm trying to understand how to move the mesh boundaries with the fluxes.

Does someone have a working example?

Hai Riccardo,
It has been 4 years since you posted this question. I hope you have successfully solved your problem by now.
I'm also working on a very similar problem, thermal shrinkage of PCM's.

I tried to use CompressibleInterFoam with SolidificationMelting FvOption. However, I did'nt got any fruitful result till now.

Can you please tell me how did you done this problem? Tell me the process, where did you done the modifications.

Orelse, can you post your solver, so that I can understand to model my problem.


Anyhelp regarding this will be greatly appreciated.
