Hello everyone,
I have been using OF for a few months to analyze the flow of two in-compressible fluid in a pipeline with T junction by using interFoam solver. Now, I want to consider heat transfer from the mixture which has high temperature to the the environment through the pipe wall which has low temperature as the same with the environment. Can I do that with interFoam changing the source codes based on the heat transfer solvers and adding the needed case files? What is the best thing I can solve heat transfer problem of the same system without chancing main set-up? If you can share your knowledge and opinion, I will be so happy. Thank you in advance. |

Is it a free surface flow or just water in a pipe, and air around it?

There is a tutorial on adding a T field to icoFoam (on my phone so I'll leave it to you to google). I haven't tried it myself but being incompressible, it should be just like any other scalar transport.

Thank you all for quick reply. It is oil-water flow in a pipe and the pipe is located under the ocean, so there is cold water around it. That means I need to define all wall temperature about 3 C and the fluid temperature is 200 C. I can create T files for these but how can I provide interFoam solve heat transfer?

Hi guys,
I am also having similar clarifications related to interFoam solver. Can interFoam able to analyze primary breakup process in spray atomization ?? or is there any solvers suitable to be used for primary breakup process in spray. Guys please reply to this thread i am beginner in OpenFoam. Thanks, Vivek |

Hi!
If you have a problem first go through the solvers if you have a proper one for your application or not: https://cpp.openfoam.org/v6/dir_fdd1...79c87ac3c.html Maybe sprayFoam? https://cpp.openfoam.org/v6/sprayFoam_8C.html "Transient solver for compressible, turbulent flow with a spray particle cloud." There is a tutorial for this solver in the lagrangian folder. |

Actually i want to simulate primary breakup process in OF using interFoam solver but in my case the liquid is coming out as a solid jet ..thats ok but it even not showing any droplet. i dont know where i am making mistake. |
