Hy everyone,
I have problems running a Karaman vortex street test case with all compressibel solver in foamExtend but als in OpenFoam 4.0. I realy can't see the error. The setup is simple: U Inlet : fixedValue (1 0 0) outlet: zeroGradient Wall: fixedValue (0 0 0) p Inlet: zeroGradient Outlet: fixedValue 1e5 Wall: zeroGradient T Inlet: fixedValue 293.15 Outlet: zeroGradient Wall: fixedValue 293.15 laminar flow Don't fix me to the numbers. But the boundary conditions are correct. At first, it runns correct, but at some point, the velocity starts to jump, the pressure is fluctuating (also gets negative) and the same for the density. I realy hope some one can help me. Thanks a lot RobertG |

Hello
The solution is blowing up it seems..Try adjusting your density relation factor to 0.01 - 0.05 and try adjusting your schemes to bounded gauss upwind for divergence. Kindly post me your relaxation factor and schemes used. It seems you are trying to simulate von karman vortex. Try any turbulence model otherwise solution may not converge. |

Hello nandhakumar,
I forgot to mention, that I uploadet the whole case. By the way, thank you. Your hint with the fvSchemes, helped a lot. I copied one from rhoPisoFoam tutorials. Now it workes fine. Thanks a lot. Best Regards RobertG |
