Hello,
I'm trying to run simulations using the k-omega SST model. When I execute simpleFoam, I receive the following error: Code:
FOAM FATAL IO ERROR: cannot find file file: /home/kodexys/OpenFOAM/kodexys-3.0.1/TEST/NACA0015/0degAoA/0/nut at line 0. From function regIOobject::readStream() in file db/regIOobject/regIOobjectRead.C at line 73 FOAM exiting I could make my own nut file, but I want to know what is going on. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! |

In OpenFOAM-5.0 all turbulence models derived from Foam::eddyViscosity read the field nut. Even if nut can be calculated from other turbulent quantities, you need a nut field to select boundary conditions (i.e. wall functions). One could devise another mechanism to select BCs for nut, however, having the nut field is quite elegant.
