Dear all,
I want to solve the time-dependent advection-diffusion equation of a concentration that is advected by a velocity field which is the steady-state solution of a creeping flow problem. I need to solve both for the steady-state velocity field and the time-dependent concentration field, but I am not sure what is the best strategy to do that using OpenFOAM. One approach would be to solve a single time-dependent problem involving both fields, as if both were unsteady. However, I guess that solving first for the velocity and then for the concentration would be computationally more efficient that recomputing the steady-state velocity field at every timestep. Could you please share you thoughts on it? Thank you for your attention. |

Compute velocity field with simpleFoam, concentration transport with scalarTransportFoam.
