Hi, with default boundary conditions for fluid:

U:
inlet - zeroGradient
outlet - zeroGradient;

p:
inlet - timeVaryingUniformFixedValue
outlet - fixedValue

simulation of 3dTube tutorials works well.
But when I try to make a velocity driven BC's for this tutorial like:

U:
inlet - fixedValue
outlet - zeroGradient;

p:
inlet - zeroGradient
outlet - fixedValue

my simulation crashes. Maybe someone faced with this problem. I really don't know why it's happens. There is no problem with Courant number. It seems to me that I need to correct some BC's but I don't know what to do... Any suggestions ?

Thanks.

Dear Svensen,

did you solve your problem? I wouldn't be able to open your file case.

I have not solved this problem yet. What is a problem with opening my case files ?

Hi Sevense,

what type of error you got when you changed the original case boundary conditions to your case.

I tried your case to see what type of error, but the case blown up with the error shown in fsi log file, screenshot attached. What's your error? and what is mine mistake to get that error?

Maybe there is some difference in foam-extend versions. When I download this case and run it on my computer there is no error with inner-wall-zone

you have to add setBatch file in solid and fluid folder.
In fluid add,
faceSet wall-zone new patchToFace wall,
and for solid
faceSet innerwall-zone new patchToFace innerwall

I’ve got a similar issue to the Svenson post, the fsiFoam 3dTube tutorial case crashes when changing the inlet to be prescribed in terms of velocity rather than pressure. It’s a floating point exception error, was a solution found to this problem?
