I'd like to redo a simulation that I've already done on Fluent 14.5, with OpenFoam.

In fluent, there is an option for initialization : Hybrid Initialization

I was wondering if I could use the same thing in OpenFoam.

I think this is more or less the same as the "potentialFoam" solver in openFoam. It will run for a certain amount of iterations an then overwrite the files in the "zero" directory of your case, as the new initial settings.

Put this
Code:
potentialFlow
{
    nNonOrthogonalCorrectors 10;
}
into your fvSolution and just run "potentialFoam" in your terminal.

If you have stability problems with your main case, just write again in this thread. OpenFoam is not as easy as Fluent...

But the answer of potential flow in openfoam is far from what hybrid initialization gives you in Fluent.

After reading the equations, yes, you are right. But by means of getting some smooth initial guess depending on the boundary conditions for p and U they (potentialFoam and hybrid init.) are quite comparable.
