HI Foamers

I want to set up a case of Flow past a rotating cylinder. And have some basic questions which i am not aware of...

1. Is it possible to give rotation condition to cylinder instead of stationary ? If yes How to do it ?

2. Which solver helps to solve this problem ?

Please give more info about a case set up of rotating bodies in OpenFOAM ...

Hi,

Please find the attached picture which explains my problem.
And i am reading the research paper to arrive at geometric dimensions, Boundary conditions and meshing.
I just want to know
Which solver can be used for this problem ? and how to give rotation to Cylinder during simulation ?

Hi,

you can use either MRFSimpleFoam or pimpleDyMFoam. Take a look at the tutorials which are using these two solvers (especially the one with the title: mixerVessel2D)

hope it helps.
