Is this velocity distribution around an airfoil plausible?

Hi,
i'm looking for someone who can tell me something about that velocity distribution i see around my airfoil. I wonder if its plausible, that away from the leading edge, the first two cells next to the surface see such a high velocity, while it drops really fast in the cells further away. The airfoil is moving, i use wall functions and the incompressible pimplefoam solver. I'm curious because the forces/pressure calculation gives questionable results. Or is something wrong with the wallfunction, or the mesh too coarse around the leading edge or on the surface? (the y+ average is about 25) I'm grateful for every comment. Thanks, Andreas |

hmm, i use dynamicFvMesh / libfvMotionSolvers.so to move the mesh containing the airfoil but impose a fixedValue uniform (0 0 0) velocity boundary condition at the airfoil surface ... is that possibly wrong?

i changed it to movingWallVelocity uniform (0 0 0) now, we'll see ... i'll report back.
