Greetings mecman,

Can you be more specific of what you want to simulate?

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi Bruno Santos
i want simulate heat pipe with two phase flow(vapor and liquid).
operation heat pipe:
a heat pipe is closed tube that filled of working fluid. At the heat source(evaporator) the cold liquid(working fluid) is evaporated, the hot vapor flow(with bubble) is afterwards transported to the heat sink(condenser) where the vapor condensates again and is transported back to the heat source.
in this case we have heat and mass transfer.i want start work with interfoam solver but i dont know is good solver for this
Plz Help

Hi Mohammad Bahreini,

Ah, that's indeed a better description
A bit of Googling lead me to this page: http://www.openfoam.org/version2.1.0/multiphase.php
From that page, I believe the solver you're looking for is compressibleTwoPhaseEulerFoam. On that page it indicates which tutorial demonstrates how to use the solver.

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi Bruno Santos
T N Q for reply
you offer me, choose Compressible two phase Euler solver?this solver is new,and i dont have information of that..do you think best solver for my case?
regard and very very T N Q

Hi Mohammad Bahreini,

As I said, from the description on that page, it seems to be the only solver that fits the description of your case. All other multiphase related solvers are either just for incompressible flow and/or cavitation and do not seem to take into account heat transfer.
Therefore, unless you do not want to simulate the actual phase change between liquid and vapour states, then this solver seems to be the best suited.

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi Burno and Mohammad
In youre opinion, can we have condensation and evaporation model in one solver? As Mohammad said, in heat pipe condensation and evaporation occur simultaneously, I simulate Heat pipe in Fluent with UDF code , but OpenFoam, I don’t know ….is it possible?

Greetings Sasan,

It's possible, but I'm not familiar with these solvers on OpenFOAM.
It's very possible that you'll have to code a solver yourself, based on the existing solvers.

Best regards,
Bruno

Hi
I want to simulate the same situation. but I want to add conjugate solver.
Did you solve it? If you solve it, Could you help me?
thank you.
