Hello friends,
I have installed OpenFOAM on Intel platform using Intel compiler (ICC,ICPC), Intel MPI.
I want to profile the simpleFoam solver execution on Intel Xeon and Xeon Phi processors.
I have tried profiling with VTune software as well as HPC Toolkit.

HPC Toolkit doesnt show the profiling result as accurate as expected, because the execution time took 830 sec but the profiling result showed 5500 sec ?

Can anyone help me out with profiling on XEON and XEON PHI platform for OpenFOAM solvers ?

Hi,

The profiling with HPC toolkit works fine when profiling on single node, but when I go for multi node it gives error as "APPLICATION TERMINATED WITH THE EXIT STRING: Segmentation fault (signal 11)"

I have done a little profiling with valgrind and it seems to work well. See https://github.com/turbinesFoam/turb...wiki/Profiling for my notes and a link to the original tutorial.

Hello pbachant,

Thanks for help, the link was well informative.

Does it work on Intel Xeon Phi (MIC coprocessor) ?
I had tried it but it failed on MIC, if you are sure about this I will give it one more try.
