Hi, there

I am learning the PotentialFreeSurfaceFoam. Can anybody provide me the related reference about this FOAM? Can anybody brief me how the FOAM calculate 'zeta'. In the source code I just see the definition of zeta in createFields.H. I did not see any other code which explicitly calculates 'zeta'.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

If you take a look at potentialFreeSurfaceFoam.C, you will see the following:

Code:
Description
Incompressible Navier-Stokes solver with inclusion of a wave height field
    to enable single-phase free-surface approximations

Wave height field, zeta, used by pressure boundary conditions

Turbulence modelling is generic, i.e. laminar, RAS or LES may be selected.
If user set IC for zeta, the field will be read, otherwise it will be zero. Then the field can be used by BCs (waveSurfacePressure for example) but it is not recalculated in potentialFreeSurfaceFoam.

Thanks for your reply.

Could you please recommend some references related to potentialFreeSurfaceFoam?

Thanks.
