Dear Foamer's,
I am working on methane/air combustion. As the full mechanism that describes the chemistry kinetics is very expensive, I use reduced mechansims. So far I was happy with the 4-steps/7-species mechanism by Jones-Lindstedt or 16 species mechanism by Smooke. However, especially at higher pressures the Augmented Reduced Mechanism (ARM) of J.-Y. Chen (COMBUSTION AND FLAME 125:906 –919 (2001)) is probably better. The only problem, the implementation in OpenFOAM is, I believe, not straightforward since steady state reactions are involved. A Frortran routine is available here: http://www.sandia.gov/TNF/chemistry.html My question is, has anybody tried to use this mechanism in OpenFOAM? How could this be done? Thank you! Hagen |

Dear Hagen,
Could you please share the files of the reduced mechanism of 4-steps/7-species mechanism by Jones-Lindstedt or 16 species mechanism by Smooke. I need them badly. Thanks. Tom |

hello Tomladian,
you can search online for "Simplified Kinetic schemes for oxy-fuel combustion" by A frassoldati, which contains jones-lindstedt mechanism in chemkin format in table2. Also the JL method is mentioned in the book "High Temperature Combustion-chapter3 by Hiroshi Tsuji". |
