hi
would anyone be able to provide me with the default nuTilda dict for the 0 time directory please?

I'm hoping to run spallart sim, unfortunately i deleted all the default tutorials that would've contained this info! (i needed space on linux partition)

thanks!

You could still download the whole openfoam package and you'll have everything back again:

thank you but i was hoping to avoid this. I've still very limited space left on my linux partition.

I've never set up a spallart problem so the spallart-allmaras case is all i need.....

if anyone had this, that'd be great

thanks

If you tell me what's the tutorial you need exactly I'll upload that for you!

Here you go!

(Had to get rid of the polyMesh folder because the file exceeded the maximum upload dimension, hope that's ok for you!)

Can anyone please tell me what do nu and nuTilda files signify in OpenFOAM?

Hello,
  • "nu" stands for the kinematic viscosity in [m^2/s] with "nu= mu/rho" ("mu" = dynamic viscosity [Pa*s], "rho" = density [kg/m^3] )
  • "nut" is the turbulent viscosity (incompressible) and "mut" the turbulent viscosity (compressible)
  • "nuTilda" is a field variable only (?) for the "Spalart Allmaras turbulence model" --> look at the source code (OpenFOAM/src/turbulenceModels/incompressibe/RAS/SpalartAllmaras/SpalartAllmaras.C) or http://courses.washington.edu/mengr5...our-report.pdf ( Equation (18) )
Is this what you are looking for ???

Hello,

Does it mean if I don't use "Spalart Allmaras turbulence model", it's not necessary to have nuTilda Dict in 0 folder?

Does nuSgs Dict needed for LES simulation?

Thank you!
