[FrozenFlow] - thermoFoam

Dear All,

I need help getting up to date information about how OpenFoam 11 works.

I want to make a case with frozen flow and heat transfer. I did a little research and see that there used to be a “thermoFoam” solver that performed such function. When I try to find up-to-date information on how it works now, I can't find anything. Could someone send me documentation or a tutorial on how to solve problems with freezing of the flow now?

I have seen examples that freezing the flow is now(? not sure) added to fvSolution, but I don’t fully understand how it works and what the boundary conditions for velocity should be.

Code:

SIMPLE
{
    frozenFlow		yes;
}

Hi Dasha,

I just started looking into this for OpenFoam 11 after using frozenFlow in version 8 a while ago.

As far as I can tell the keyword frozenFlow is missing in version 11.
Did you make any progress?

Hi Marius!

Now, instead of the keyword 'frozenFlow,' the following is used:

Code:

{
    flow off;
    momentumPredictor off;
}

This needs to be added to fvSolution
