Hey everyone,
I am trying to create my own case wich involve VOF method. I apply setFields and I don't get any error in the Ubuntu terminal. But when I open the alpha.water file which is formed after running the setFields, it doesn't have 0 and 1. Instead, it has "?", "ð?" and blank space. I have attached the file along with this. I went through a lot of errors related to setFields which was posted in this forum and couldn't find any similar to this and I don't know why I get such an alpha.water file after running setFields. So I could not search for a specific error alpha.water.txt Does anyone have any idea why I get this error? Thank you in advance Kind regards vava10 |

Hi!
What is your setting for the "writeFormat" in system/controlDict? If it is binary then this is totally normal. If it is ascii then there are some serious problems... BTW: This is not an error. If there is an error, OF will tell you with nice big ERROR messages. |

Hey,
Thank you for your reply. It is binary. I was not able to visualize the setfields result in ParaView for some reason. I thought this could be the reason. Do you have any idea why I am not able to visualize the result in ParaView? Can you suggest to me what I might have done wrong? Like the usual reasons this might occur from your experience with the software so that I can check them. |

Blindly I would guess that you left the "skip zero time" option checked (by default) in paraview, and your resulted field is in the 0 time folder so paraview won't read it.
If this is not the problem then you should attach your case or give more information. |
