Hi everyone,

I am new to OpenFOAM and I have to use it for a final course project. I am trying to run a simulation of air flowing into a box shape that is connected to a u-shaped pipe. This is a cold flow analysis, no heat is considered.

I am using simpleFOAM as a solver because I want to include turbulence. When I run the simulation and open ParaView, I want to see the velocity and the pressure maps across the volume. When I change from one to the other and back again, the scale changes from (0 to 0.3 m/s) to (0 to 1e308 m/s)!

I close and reopen paraview to reset this issue. I want to slice the volume in half symmetrically to see what is happening on the inside of my system (I set the walls to zero velocity). I slice it in half and when I click "rescale to visible data" the scale then changes to (nan to 1e38 m/s).

Does anyone know why this might be happening? I have googled this and read lots of guides and cannot figure it out. I am really struggling with this! Thank you in advance

- Can you visually check the content of "U" file at the latest time directory - may be the simulation resulted in these nonphysical "U" values?
- If you can't open your "U" files for some reason, you can execute `postProcess -func "minMaxComponents(U)" -latestTime` to see the minimum and maximum velocity components within your computational domain.
